While the team is setting up for the 6 Hours of Castellet in the GT World Challenge at the Var circuit, other preparations are in full swing at the Gembloux workshops where the team is working on another Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the upcoming… 12 Hours of Spa !
The first event of the season for the « 24H European Series, » which is the continental equivalent of the « 24H Middle East Trophy » in which the team participated this winter (24H Dubai). These 12 Hours of Spa have a unique feature: No complete race around the clock as two distinct races are on the schedule, one of 5 hours on Saturday, and another of 7 hours the next day.
An excellent opportunity for the team not only to return to the Ardennes track, the scene of their success at the last 24 Hours, but also to welcome a new driver line up, and what for crew !
Three drivers will share the wheel of the Aston Vantage #40:
Frédéric Jousset: (F) 55 years old.
Initially present in GT Open, then in the Asian Le Mans Series from 2023 (LMP3), Frédéric Jousset had a superb season last year aboard a Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Third in the Championship, he notably won the highlight of the season: « Road to Le Mans » held as a prelude to the 24 Hours…
Sebastian Alvarez: (Mex) 22 years old. @sebastian.alvarez94
Sebastian started with karting, then moved to the British F4 Championship, where he finished second in 2019 with five wins and… 19 podiums. He then moved to GB3, the Asian Le Mans Series, ELMS, and IMSA. His latest achievement: Victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona 2025 in LMP2 with Sébastien Bourdais and Job van Uitert (B) and Vice Champion ELMS – LMP2 !
Sérgio Sette Câmara: (BR) 26 years old, born in Belo Horizonte – @sergiosettecamara
Sergio boasts an impressive track record: Multiple Brazilian champion at the start of his career as well as IAME world champion, Sergio excelled in European F3 from 2014 to 2016, before moving to F2 for three seasons, successively with MP, Carlin, and Dams. (3 poles, 18 podiums, and 3 victories) Reserve and development driver at McLaren F1 in 2019, then at Red Bull F1 in 2020, Sergio joined the ranks of Formula E from 2019 to 2022 with Dragon. This season, he is a full-time driver with Nielsen Racing in ELMS-LMP2, and he is now also focused on endurance racing.
The three drivers will discover the Aston Martin Vantage and the Comtoyou team next Wednesday. François Verbist, Team Principal, is very enthusiastic: « The world of Motorsport not only allows for great encounters but also the composition of completely unique crews! Obviously, our participation in the 12 Hours of Spa is no coincidence, it allows the team to continue its endurance rhythm, and on our favorite circuit. I am very eager to see our French Mexican Brazilian crew in action, and given their individual track records, they should be more than up to the task this weekend.
