Comtoyou Racing today confirms its participation in the 2026 DTM championship with Aston Martin, unveiling its two drivers as well as a major new partner: MASCOT® WORKWEAR.
After a learning-filled debut season highlighted by a pole position and as strong performance in Hockenheim, the team is ready to build on it´s experience in it´s second year in the legendary German championship.
While the presence of the Vantage GT3 is no surprise given our iconic partnership, this season delivers a major highlight with the arrival of DTM star Nicki Thiim. An official Aston Martin Racing driver, Thiim will race the #007 and brings proven talent and experience, having already made a strong impression with the team — including victory at the 24 Hours of Spa alongside Mattia Drudi and Marco Sørensen.
Nicki shares his enthusiasm:
“After many years, the time has finally come: I will compete in DTM as an Aston Martin factory driver for the Comtoyou and AMR family. It is an extremely demanding championship, and I am a big fan of the DTM racing style, whose intensity is comparable to that of Formula 1. Wearing the Aston Martin colors in DTM is something very special to me. We have already enjoyed great success in the past, and I look forward to continuing on that path in DTM.”
Since 2014, Nicki has claimed numerous titles and victories for the Gaydon-based brand, and now aims to build on the Thiim family’s impressive DTM legacy.
Alongside him, Nicolas Baert returns to the wheel of the #008 Vantage for a second season. After a year of learning punctuated by standout performances — such as at the Norisring — Nicolas is ready to take the next step:
“Together with Gilles Magnus and the entire team, we made tremendous progress in 2025. We now know the circuits, the competitors, and the key factors. DTM teaches humility, but I’m convinced we’ll see British Racing Green at the front — and I fully intend to be part of that! I’m delighted to be back for a new season in such a dynamic format.”
MASCOT® WORKWEAR joins Comtoyou Racing as a major partner and official supplier for the 2026 season, alongside Aston Martin and Champion. The partnership is built on shared values of quality, durability, and precision, and includes the development of a new teamwear collection by MASCOT, designed to support the entire team throughout an intense season where every detail counts.
Team Director François Verbist “Reflects on the team’s DTM debut, noting a demanding first season that delivered valuable experience and strong progress toward the front. With Aston Martin factory driver Nicki Thiim, a strengthened driver lineup, new DTM Program Leader Mario Schuhbauer, and continued support from Aston Martin Racing, CHAMPION lubricants, Winmax brake pads and new partner MASCOT®, the team approaches the 2026 season with greater confidence and stronger foundations. “
CEO Jean Michel Baert “Highlights the team’s resilience and ambition, emphasizing improved preparation for the new season, expanded activities in Germany with a possible entry in ADAC GT master, and enhanced hospitality programs. I would like to thanks Aston Martin Racing, the team’s partners, and all team members for their continued trust and commitment as Comtoyou Racing takes on its next DTM challenge.”
